With Sam Ash gone, you’d think that Guitar Center would inherit all of their customers… and all of their trade-ins. But based on my semi-local Clearwater, I’d say NO. The Sam Ash Clearwater had the best collection of used PA gear I’ve ever seen, and it had lots of used guitars and basses. So my hope was that with them closing, the Guitar Center in Clearwater would end up with a bigger selection of used gear, and more customers equals more products, one would assume. But I don’t see any changes at Guitar Center.

I’m not hopeful that Guitar Center will be around by 2028. I hope I’m wrong. I’ve certainly supported them, but over the past 5 years their selection just seems to be less interesting.
