I recently posted a video about US Customs seizing millions of dollars with of fake Gibsons (Chibsons) and honestly, I think I’ve underestimated how many people are totally fine playing a fake guitar. Like I said in the video, it isn’t my place to tell people what to think. But one thing that I didn’t address in the video is that people seem to be more “OK” with playing a fake Gibson than a fake Fender, and I believe that it’s because people think Gibson massively overcharges for their guitars.
I also don’t believe it when people who own counterfeit Gibsons that they don’t care what it says on the headstock. I do believe that some Chibsons are great guitars. I also believe that the counterfeit industry does help fuel illegal drug trade. Anyway, here’s a link to the video:
